Meet at 9:00 at the village of St. Auban (see acces map), in the “Alpes Maritimes”.
Our guide will welcome you and organize a system to drop off some the vehicles at the arrival point (a 20 km drive).
After handing out the equipment, he will give a safety talk and technical instructions concerning abseiling and canyoning in general. Then, there is a 45 mn walk to reach the entrance of the canyon, the last 15 minutes of which are quite steep.
Aiglun canyon is beautifully situated in a wild and grandiose environment and presents both deep and open sections. There are 3 different parts: 2 deep ones, and in the middle, a more open one that makes up a cirque (open area surrounded by cliffs).
You then move on in narrow passes which sometimes require to walk on ledges, using fixed ropes. There is also some swimming in the pools of the canyon, and a few abseils not exceeding 10 m. There are as well a few beautiful jumps of up to 11 m. along the way, none of them being compulsory.
A short but steep walk leads us to our vehicules, where we left them previously.
